This year the team was involved in three particular events that helped out not only in their own community but in a community of a team they play in their league. Prior to the holidays the team did a food drive in November where the players were divided over three locations in the City of Orillia. They invited customers to help support the local food bank and collected the food bringing it to the Sharing Places Food Centre. In addition, in October while visiting the Pickering Ajax team the team was invited to support their team food drive for the Ajax Pickering area and our team collected food and toiletry items and donated them to the Ajax Pickering team. The third item that helped support the community relates to their safe driving campaign for the holidays. Each player was given 5-10 paper bags and they coloured and wrote important messages about safe driving over the holidays that involved not using alcohol and having a plan to get home safely. These were distributed to local LCBO's so they could be used to package purchases and sending messages as they left the store. These important messages were well received. The team coaches, manager and players have been showing a lot of positive spirit while demonstrating at an early age the importance of being positive role models in their community.
