The Meadowvale Minor Novice Gold team is a group of talented young athletes helmed by a community minded coaching staff. The team has offered 2 high school students the opportunity to earn volunteer hours for their community service requirement with their support modeling proper skating and goal tending techniques. The coaching staff and parents believe that raising charitable and compassionate adults begins with teaching children the joy of giving. They have established a tradition through their hockey association of having their kids pick a toy (or two!) to donate to needy families during the holiday season. They have also encouraged parents to start a 'giving' bank where the family places a coin of a denomination they choose for every time their hockey player shoots a goal on net in practice, at home, on the ice or in a game and when the bank is full, donate it to the Association's Play More charity.
